Longnor Races
10th of September is a day for your diaries! The races kick off with gymkhana then horse trotting, there’s a fun run and a cross country race then the motorbike racing begins!
There are some pro classes for folks who are riding motocross all the time but it’s the locals races that make longnor special. This is the day that all the locals dig their motorcross bike out of the shed for - you’ll see all sorts of folk riding all sorts of bikes. There’s even a few motocross sidecar outfits. There’s lots of classes to enter, thousands of spectators and a good bar.
After an afternoon of motorbike racing theres usually a mass migration up to the village pubs.
Longnor Races is held at Waterhouse Farm (SK17 0LA) off the B5053 South of Longnor Village.
August Campers
August has seen new bell tents, volley ball nets and badminton nets arrive at Rue Hill.
Hope you lads had a lovely stay!
I bet a few of you slept in the car on the way home after all that football! Thanks for staying with us!
Beginnings of the new toilet & shower block
Despite the heat and the thunderstorms, the lads worked hard for 2 long days putting this frame up. The start of our new toilet & shower block is now onsite & expected to be ready for our campers by the start of 2016.
