Walking & cycling:
Our village has 2 cycle hires, both on the manifold valley cycle trail. We are right next to the Peak District national park, Dovedale, Ilam, Thors cave, Blue John mines, Pooles cavern, Dimmingsdale & loads more!
Churnet Valley Steam railway:
Take a steam powered journey back in time, then stop for tea & scones at the vintage railway cafe.
Cinema, bowling & ice skating:
All in one place at Uttoxeter cinebowl.
Trentham monkey forest:
Take a walk amongst the monkeys as they roam free in the woodlands & meadows of the trentham estate.
A beautiful reservoir, surrounded by footpaths. There's also a children's play area and great cafe.

Foxlowe Arts Centre & Cafe:
A lovely cafe run by volunteers, plus theres always a free art exhibition on upstairs along with regular cinema nights, comedy nights, live music & lots of other events.
Peak Wildlife park:
A new little zoo on our doorstep, check it out if you fancy a peek at some penguins.
Theme park & Waterpark, just 3 miles down the road.
The Roaches, Hen cloud, Black rock & loads more climbs are all very close by. You may even be able to borrow a copy of Staffordshire grit if you ask nicely.
Blake Hall fisheries are the closest places to try for a big catch.
Traditional town markets:
Leek: General market - Wednesday. Antique market - Saturday. Ashbourne: General market Thursday. Antique market - Saturday.
Stoke skate plaza:
Arguably, the largest and most original skateplaza in Europe (34000 square feet!) it has everything, great for anyone who wants to skate or ride concrete.
Beaver hall, Tissington trekking centre and Poplars farm are the closest riding stables.
Lots to do at this reservoir: take windsurfing or kayaking lessons, go fishing, hire a rowing boat, hire a bike or just go for a stroll then take a break at the visitors centre and cafe.
South Moorlands Leisure Centre:
The local leisure centre, less than 15 mins drive. Lots to do here with a 33m swimming pool, 56 station gym, sports hall and 2 squash courts.

Hetty's Tea Shop: This cafe is based in a lovely heritage building on the edge of the canal. After a tasty homemade snack you can enjoy a stroll along the waters edge or even a boat ride. ST10 2HJ
The Yew Tree: A real unusual real ale pub. Pork pies, pickled eggs, polyphony, a pianola and penny farthings can all be found here! ST10 3EJ
The Ramblers retreat: This little cafe is nestled amongst the trees at dimmingsdale. Beautiful food & beautiful views; the perfect place to relax after a woodland walk. ST10 4BU
Ye Olde Crown Inn: Traditional Country Pub in local village of Waterhouses, just a 5 mins drive from the campsite. ST10 3HL
The Cottage Kitchen Country Cafe: A lovely cafe stocking lots of local products and seasonal artisan foods. ST13 7PN
Denstone farm shop & cafe: This cafe and farm shop is all about buying local & supporting lots of independent local producers. Open 8.30 - 4,30 Tuesday - Saturday & 10.00 - 4.00 on Sundays. ST14 5HF
Buxton Tap House: Handmade craft beers brewed in Buxton, tasty food & regular live music. SK17 6AT
Stepping Stones Pub: A good choice for family groups - great value for money with large seating areas and a children's play area. Just 10 mins drive from the campsite. The Stepping Stones gives a discount to Rue Hill Campers - just present your campsite map to receive 20% off your food bill. DE6 1AY
